Today was Opening Day in Birdland, and the Orioles got the all important momentum boost with a 2-1 win over the Red Sox.
Chris Tillman got the start for the Orioles, pitching fairly well. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 7 hits, 1 run, and striking out 4.
Jon Lester pitched 7 innings, giving up 2 runs and striking out 7.
For the Red Sox, their only run came off of a Grady Seizmore solo home run in the 4th.
The big blow for the Orioles came in the 7th when Nelson Cruz led off the inning with a solo bomb to left, his first as an Oriole.
Tommy Hunter got the save, striking out Jackie Bradley Jr. with the tying run on 2nd.
