Is Patton's Time on the Orioles Over?
Troy Patton will start the season with a 25 Game Suspension for use of PED's at the end of last season.
Patton, along with current big leaguers Zach Britton and Brian Matusz, are out of minor league options and cannot be sent to AAA without clearing waivers, which none are likely to do. Britton had an impressive spring, with a 0.87 ERA, and Matusz has proved that he is a good young arm out of the pen. If both do well during the month of April, it will be hard to see Patton find a spot on the roster once returning. The Orioles also like TJ McFarland, who is currently starting in AAA, and has remaining options, who could be a backup plan should Britton or Matusz be injured at any point in 2014.
Should Patton remain an Oriole? Will He?
